It's like stepping back in time and the engine bay would put the factory to shame!

Will give the steam cleaner a try at the weekend to shift the veg but think I'll have to soak some bits the night before with a smidge of wd40 to help it out and try and get the leakoff pipe properly sealed :)

Fingers crossed for you Vince :)

Hope all goes well, Vince. Mine is in for MOT tomorrow and I too am fidgety. I think everything is working, but you never can tell!

Err yes and no....Not a permanent laquer like ive seen over the years..the one that tends to yellow over time. I use a silicone spray or brush on liquid silicone, which some people refer to as laquer. Ive found over the years that it keeps all rubber components lubricated and resistant to cracking and aging...that's the main reason...plus it looks cleaner and newer :) Unlike the one that yellows though, it doesn't and also fades off over time so it isn't as messy ;)

Opinions are always divided though on engine bays....some people like them looking clean and new, others like them "natural"

I feel for you Ragger too....like you say its the bits that you don't know about :) Im feeling more optimistic today :D
