Well, that wasn't clever. What I thought was T cut black polish was actually Car Plan black trim fluid, so the bonnet is now a total mess as is my polisher. Oh well, they were exactly the same colour and shaped bottles!

Time for a rest.

Reminds me of Roald Dahl's Matilda where Matilda swaps her mum's hair bleach with her dad's hair tonic when she seeks revenge on her dad....

Good to hear the dots have softened with water, it means they will eventually wash off.

For rustproofing, inside the sills is a must, especially near the jacking points, as is the rear chassis rails where the subframe mounting bolts on.

i found her to currently to be in rather good order for a car that had stood near the coast for some time..

any extra protection will be advantagious.. theres cross member inspection holes which are worth spraying up with protection..

Hmm, the nearside dipped headlamp stopped working this evening as I drove to choir (changing bulbs made no difference), while the side light that had previously not been working now is. Add in the non functioning nearside front indicator and it looks as though some wiring needs to be checked. Any clues on what to check?


(despite only one lamp working it still put out more light than before changing the bulbs!)

Wiggle the connector at the n/s of the plastic radiator support panel and check the earths. The front of the car has been off.

A bit of a wiggle has sorted it pro-tem. I can't do anything about the indicator so I'll get that done when waxoyling is sorted. I don't want anyone confusing the car with a BMW!

...can't have that!

Used the excellent Meguiars black trim polish today, inside and out, plus re-waxed the bonnet with the right stuff this time. Looks a little better (even if the starlings have been busy all over the rest of it!)
