Unfortunately I won't be able to make the cxm this weekend due to money and time : ( sounds like a nice trip down to north Devon though.

You were missed Vince and perhaps in retrospect I should have missed parts of it too

Trouble is, it was one of the best CXMs ever and I enjoyed every second of it Especially the railway and long natters with old and new friends

But am I ever having to pay for it. I was bad on Monday, struggled to work for a bit on Tuesday retiring hurt after about three hours and yesterday I needed to go to Somerset for a family funeral.

I have badly relapsed. Came home from Somerset yesterday, went straight to bed almost and slept for well over 12 hours

This afternoon I have to go to Aylesbury for an ME clinic appointment ironically and could well do without it I'm really too ill but must

I don't expect to be back to normal for some days yet.

I'll gently catch up on what's been happening over the course of the next couple of days. If I can keep conscious long enough

Sorry to hear Jim. Take it easy. Be glad of the NHS. Maybe not so good but heaven compared to the Irish HSE Health Service Executive. Don't you love the word executive....Better off with medieval witch doctors in Ireland...

Many in the UK seem to make a hobby of moaning about the NHS but for me at least it's always been good. Mostly for visits to A and E when I've done something silly when playing with cars

Or poisoning myself with HFC fire extinguishers

What's HFC, I recently fought a battle with a fire at work with powder/co2 and foam extinguishers (quite useless) and everything else I could find and ended up coughing powder for a fortnight. They (some idiot acting my boss) insisted I'd see a 'doctor' (you know, to be in the clear etc.) so you know he looked at my throat for about 0,4 seconds and told me I shouldn't have been fighting fires - leave that to the fire brigade! Cashed in at least 50 euro's for that medical miracle! Now isn't that cause of depression...you try and save your workplace and any possible harm to many staff and customers by containing a fire and the doc says you're stupid. I'm depressed since, Jim! Trying to find a better doc, quite hopeless...Driving home in my XM possibly made that worht wile! Just to chear you up!

That is appalling Jaap. I would change doctor...but I fear you'll only get the same response if you start fighting more fires!! Dentists over here take the pee too. Money for old rope and they know it.

GOOD NEWS!!! I found the very best dentist in the world! Not cheap and to be honest for all English: he's a Scotsman but the best dentist I ever met. And to prove it: my darling wife who is a very strong willed lady but nevertheless decided, against all common sense and for very good reason, to never visit a dentist again for 12 years (after being bullied beyond belief,.....) likes to go to him (for dentistry work and a bit of craic...! that is ) So ,if you're ever around in Ireland: feel free to ask me his number and although he likes his cars, he' NOT into citroens just to tell you! Absolutely great dentists, very very VERY rare!

Lucky Chap...sounds like you have have found a gem. Our dentist likes to x ray, 'find' cavities and insist on fillings and even then you get the hard sell,....ie practically insisting on the expensive white fillings. He is raking it in so much he is partitme. I haven't been for years. Naughty I know, but cannot be bothered with him anymore. He is Scottish too, but he has a very odd attitude at times. Odd bloke.

I will bare yours in mind next time in Ireland... really must come over sometime and see you both.

Jaap, that is terrible Mine was from HFC-227 which is also known as 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-Heptafluoropropane and is used to put out burning computers amongst other things. It's non-toxic but not if it comes into contact with a naked flame or other heat source. It then liberates Hydrofluoric Acid, one of the nastiest substances on the planet.

That's what happened with me. I was in the close vicinity of an HFC discharge onto naked flames. I noticed there was a problem when some highly polished stainless steel nearby turned black in an instant

It may be a contributory factor to my ongoing problems...

Good dentists are as rare as an XM. I have a lovely lady dentist but does she know how to charge. She's more expensive that my local main dealer Still, I don't resent her a penny of what she ears. I mean, it can't be nice having your fingers stuck in people's mouths all day can it?
