Those window trims like like they've been pried back with screwdrivers. For both to go at the same time would be some coincidence.

Agreed, there is no way its just happened, somebody has had a go at it with some sort of pry.

Has anyone actually seen this sort of rubber distortion before? Almost looks as if the seals have had an unwelcome dose of solvent! Extraordinary.

Never seen that type of distortion either, it does look like someone has had a go at them. But why there?

I have seen distortion just like that on front screen top trim removal.
You have to be very careful and work gently with the chisel if you want to recover and reuse it.
My guess is local towrag looking to see if glass and rubber surround would spring out.

Xantia boot rear window seals do that on the lower edge. I have seem them crinkle up.

I've just banaged mine:) I'll take a pic, it's gone longer instead of crimped, by over an inch...Not good

My grey XM's boot trim curled slightly in direct sun. Thats the wider part at the top of the window, but always returned to normal.
