Vapour lock..........right you are, need to get that pump out then.
Not sure it has a non return although the pump doesn't prime with ignition on so assume it must be built into the damper or pressure reg.
Should be a nice easy job, will stick a gauge on it first and see what's what.

Had to go out this evening after fitting a new fuel pump, it was vapour lock and TS been doing it for a long time although very occasionally when it was last on the road, the old pump measures out at 11psi!! The newer one puts out just over 3 bar, the difference is evident whilst driving, its transformed the car further still.

Good to hear the pump was the fix.

Having seen the pictures of your car, I'm not sure I want you turning up at any Rallies in it...

I will bring the L200 and loiter at the entrance like an outcast if you like ;)
Everything looks good in photo's, it needs paint on the rear roof trims as they have lost the clear coat, needs the front grill fixings painting at the same time, the front bumper needs paint as its badly scratched either side and badly repainted by previous owner, the rubbing strips on the front bumper corners are badly scratched but I have made and tested a tool for rectifying that............a cunning plan is afoot, like I say, testing is going well.

Anyway, my point is its not perfect.

I see a wire brush and a hot air gun...

I'm warming to the L200 idea.

Think more solid nylon wallpaper roller imprinted with the texture of the bumper plastic, heat the bumper and roll the pattern on, I can make an almost perfect repair but just got to make some changes to the roller before I unleash it on the prestige.

Anything that restores scratched bumper corners will find you very popular at rallies! In fact with yours looking so good the rest of us will be shamed into having it done :) I see a money making scheme to offset the expense of getting to rallies!

I was thinking more along the lines of passing it round, it is tricky, you have to heat the bumper enough to soften it and keep dipping the roller in water to keep it cool, i then spray it with WD40 to stop it sticking and roll away, i might make a video of it when its done.

Mines fairly tidy but more and more are coming out of the woodwork and a lot are being revived like yours which looked pretty tidy in the first place, Will likes to take the Mick but his Manderin SD is really tidy, Matthews got some stunners, need i say Vince? Russ, Brad, Fakeconcern, Misha the list goes on and on. Dont forget mine is now officially a tart car, you know the one, sits in the garage all year, gets wheeled out to the show and then put back in the garage for the next 11 months, it wont be doing the daily or going out in the rain or anything like that so its easy to keep tidy. If i do any shows this year i wont be in the CCC anyway.

Oh and thank you very much Rob, got your PM, if there is anything you need give me a shout, im hoping to get a white Si manual this year so if its too brown to make roadworthy and you need some bits........there was a list of wants from that car if it was broken but anything else....

Looks great in the photos as always! I can relate to how you felt with the scrape down the side as I experienced the same a couple of weeks ago
