Well, I reset the trips this morning, and averaged 30.2 coming to work! This was shattered by a little lunchtime run to Asda, and hitting 5k once or twice! Now reading 24.3. Meh!

Spent a chilled lunchtime with a bottle of glass cleaner, some APC and a few cloths cleaning the interior front glass, the drivers doorcard and dash top, and dis-assembling the plastic cowling around the gear lever and cleaning that! Does the hydractive sport button bit come apart or cleaning, or do I need to resort to toothpicks and cotton buds to get it sorted? Don't want to un-clip it and have it go PING everywhere... (I unplugged it and took it out of the surround, but didn't take the actual module apart)

Also found the steering wheel adjuster, so played with that a bit too! Need to order a bucket-load of bulbs, and actually sit in the thing in the dark and note down which ones need replacing! Went up and down a bit too, the rear adjuster is freeing off slowly, but I think I will re-read the how-to and attempt a full flush and re-fill with the cleaning fluid stuff for a few thousand miles.

Thoroughly enjoyable lunchtime doing that with the sunroof open in the 19 degree heatwave we have here atm.

Loving it! TBH it's more fun to waft along than drive at 6k revs with the turbo screaming away, it's refined! Doesn't feel big to drive, and it's surprisingly easy to park with such good visibility. Has the turning circle of a canal boat though!

I saw the gear display work today too, the sun beamed directly onto it and I saw it change! I did ruin a chav in a 1.6 focus (10 plate too) on the bypass coming back to work, that was worth the £3 in fuel it used to do 2 miles! Been looking at Lexia 3 clones too today, have 2 weeks until payday to do more research! I'm still convinced the gearbox clunk is ecu related, I can't get it to reproduce it at anything less than full revs, if it was mechanical I'd hear it all the time regardless of load wouldn't I?

Priced up 2 tyres for £108 fitted too today, will do that before we go to Peterborough in it.

I too was looking at Lexia clones - well, with three Citroens one could find it useful -and I could get the smart software and leads too - local computer shop is charging £200 for guaranteed refurb win XP laptops plus the lexia kit on top.

That gearbox clunk disappears when the eml is off too and changes become smoooooth - and I think that's the key too - and I think you're right about it being electronic rather than a physical issue..

Are those tyres 195/65s as the 205s are more expensive. I liked the toyo tyres I have on the white one - CF1s I think.

I've got a spare laptop I can put XP on, so I;d only need the lexia kit, which seems to be fairly cheap considering what it (may be able) to do!

Tyre shopper reckons they are 205/60/r15. £108 fully fitted at our local national tyres. I'll ask them to swap the wheels round before they balance and track the whole thing which they also do (used the same service for the missus's meriva, £180 for 4 tyres fitted, which I didn't think was bad.)

I played with the climate control properly on the way home just now, and noticed that it wasn't very accurate. So I investigated after remembering a thread I;ve read.

Whipped it out and bought it in



10 seconds with some switch cleaner later and



Gave the plug a spray too



I noticed 2 oddities in my light panel, there is a random wire coming out of the loom with nowhere to go, and a random socket which nothing is spare to fit, and the aforementioned plug wont fit

Gave the socket for the temp sensor a blast with the cleaner, and unplugged everything in turn and gave them a blast too. Removed all the bulbs and gave them a clean with a dry microfibre cloth. They were grey with dirt, now they are clear again!



Had an extensive play and it now seems much more responsive to changes in temperature (open sunroof etc). Job jobbed! May have gone up and down a few times! She's coming up sharper and quicker now, but I do think a good drain, fill with flush and thorough bleed will do her the world of good.

The rear follows the front now too, so the plusgas is working. Will give it another soak at the weekend. It looks a bit manky, ideally I'd like to remove it, strip it down and clean it properly, is this do-able?

It is possible to strip the height corrector, but won't do anything. If anything it will be the linkage being sticky combined with possibly gunky fluid.

The spare connector is for the remote locking sensor, which appears to be missing.
