Well Jim, I do still have vague plans to move on that 12v v6 SEi auto in green
that needs a working gearbox (supplied) fitting...

Go on Jim! Get a 2.5 TD to smoke about in daily! You will love it!

I'm waiting for John to give me permission to own a 2.5 Robert. I doubt I've served a long enough apprenticeship yet

Sadly Andrew, my health just doesn't allow me to attempt such a big task, as much as I'd like. My absolute limit is sorting out ABS at present and that's left me a bit the worse for wear today...

Now, if I was fully fighting fit it might well be a totally different matter..

I realise that Jim.

I do know that feeling of frustration and of feeling mentally tired after
grinding to a halt today trying to fix the broken gearchange cable on my 2.5.
It's not nice being completely stumpted and not sure of a way forwards.
But tomorrow is another day and I've had time to mull...

Its ok, John does accept new apprentices every now and again! You can apply now, and he will review your application!

He'll probably grant you as time served once you've been sent for a "long weight" and a "bucket of steam".
