If the ride is getting stiff when not in sport mode it does indicate the spheres are suspect.

There can be something quite satisfying about rocking around in an old but nice car.

I think the XM is very well built. The 20 year old XM is on average, probably, in better shape than a 20 year old DS or CX. But don't take my word for it.

I would tend to agree with that Jan, i would imagine a 20 year old C6 would be fairing better than all of them too, well thats what im wishing for anyway

I would not expect to see many C6 on the road in twenty years time, Dean, given the complexity of the engine management systems etc., although no doubt the build quality could outlast all older Citroens!! Regards, Matthew T.

I guess you are right there Robert, but even still present day cars seem so much more complex and not really designed to be maintained by their owners without all the necessary test equipment. I would certainly think twice about tackling an 'engine-out' head gasket replacement on a C6!! Regards, Mathew T.

I think modern cars are only meant to live for about 7-10 years top, then you chuck em away and buy another.
I hate that mentality, but that's the car industry.
90's cars will most likely be the last significant decade for everyday classic cars.
Pity... the C6 deserves to hang around and become a true classic big Cit.

The C6 is very much on my radar within the next 18-24 months. Hopefully. Providing junior slow doesn't eat up all my budget!

The c6 was out of date when it was launched so should be less scary as a proposition. Thats the theory any way.

The prices of them have become very enticing must admit, well under 10K now. But simple things like tyres can cost almost a grand to replace all of them. Generally speaking though, isn't the reliability of them actually quite good.
Best of all, they are rare and distinctive. That's what I like!
