Very reminiscent to a CX is an XM with Diravi apparently...

Feels bizarre when maneuvering a Diravi XM - sometimes you forget and...

I'm not too sure I like the Diravi that much...Surely it was an almost one off.
I like my cx though..

I do. I liked it on the CX prestige I sampled years ago. An XM....would love to try it for sure. So yeah..I hope Matthew is bringing his Germany Car to see what it is like.

Saturday was a very good day. I undertook a very interesting trip to BL Autos to say hello to David Hallworth and look at some V6 Activas Very much enjoyed...

I dug my Activa out of hibernation for that trip and discovered just how badly the rear ram is leaking. It's not weeping, it's crying long and loud I must fix it...

It was lovely to have the Activa back on the road and it's now my summer daily driver... The V6 has gone for a long summer rest.

I finally got fed up with my XM being a bit intermittent on starting and on Saturday afternoon I fitted a helper relay and touch-wood so far the starting has been perfect since.

Sunday was the most excellent X Rally. Very, very much enjoyed except it was too short to speak to everybody in one day...

I paid dearly though for a very busy weekend Overdid the weekend big-time. Sod it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and if that’s the consequence of a great weekend then so be it. I'd rather suffer a few days of being really ill every now and again rather than just sit at home bored...

Mustn't overdo it like that too often as it takes nearly a week to fully recover...

It's why I've been a bit quiet on here since Sunday...

Good to hear you've had a good time Jim! Be careful with that extra helper relay. I've had it in my ES9J4 too and it caused a very strange side effect. Whenever the cruise control was used this would activate the starter

The intermittend not starting issue I've had with mine was due 2 causes combined:
- a dirty connector in the signal wire which would power the starter relay. This single white wire has a connector fixed/placed under the airco compressor. Because of it's place it gets corroded easily
- extra wires for an aftermarket alarm. These were running from the fusebox to the glove compartment and back. Too thin and badly connected these would (mostly with hot engine) cause the Xm not to start

I've cleaned the connector, removed the excess wires from the old alarm and soldered the original ones back together and haven't had an issue with starting since....

I know I had that as well and happily I know why now... It's easy to make the wiring error when putting the helper in and you should have seen the look on my face when I popped the cruise on and the starter operated

Still, it's an alternative start method if the primary one fails and after all, push button start is the height of fashion these days

I checked all the usual suspects before doing the relay modification and found them all good so I had little option really...

It's also a very commonly needed modification on the Xantia V6 too...

I've not forgotten about what I was going to do for you with regard to HP20 tools, it's just health and the X rally have got in the way of it a bit

Do you understand why the cc is operating the starter? I couldn't figure it out. In my case it was just the starter signal wire which was cut and put on the relay together with ground and a +12 V directly from the battery.

Don't worry, make sure you are feeling ok(ish) first and of course things like the X rally are far more important! I've got enough stuff on my hands to occupy me otherwise

Hi Matthew

I came to the same conclusion when looking at Jim's V6 last Sunday.
I looked closely at the Dravi setup on your V6 car as well.
Pity as that means I cannot source all the bits I am looking for in one car.
