If there is only one break in the hose you can do a tempery repair by splitting it and putting in a piece of pipe the same size as 3.5mm hydraulic pipe... ;)

Yeah this is what Ken has suggested. Think I'll do a full replacement. :D I haven't got 3.5 mm pipes lying around unfortunately.

Could I be an absolute pain and ask you how to do it. Any need to de pressurise the system and what clips to use ect? Would be great.

No need to de-pressurise. If the replacement you are buying is a pukka Citroen one then it should come with a new clip. Trouble is ideally you need a fancy pair of pincers ('Clic' type??) to get the clip fastened - alternative is to use a good quality tie wrap instead.

It is a genuine Cit part I believe. We'll see if does turn up with a clip.....
Thanks for the tip Ken. Reading up on it, sounds quite straight forward to replace. Time will tell.

It's not a bad jib at all to replace Russ. By far the worst job is the clean-up...

Go to a good factors and buy a gallon of loose (i.e. not in a aerosol) brake cleaner and use that liberally to clean up. Paint it on and blast it off with an airline. It'll do a lovely job...

Cheers Jim, I was looking at those photos and wondering how long it take to clear it all up. Gone everywhere!

One good thing about LHM is that once the leaks are stemmed traces of it soon fade, even on driveways, but when it soaks road muck it can hang around a bit...

Despite looking a mess it’ll do no general harm but can attack some rubber so it's good to keep it off of gaiters and engine mounts...

Jolly good. It did leave a decent sized stain in the road....hehe!
I'll give it a good clean and make sure it's all off the rubber bits.

hey, Russ...had that the first day after I bought my 2 liter, giving her a few gynmnastics.
NOthing to worry about, in fact I made a temporary repair and forgot about it's...still leak free! :) Good to know Xantia bits fit as well, wonder why they never caused any hassle with me. Will give them a second chance :) (from my old Xant)

Hi Jaap, good hols?

Bit annoying it has gone, but new pipe arrived today and just got to fit it now. However, I do not relish doing it this weekend with this bitter weather. It's soooo cold out there. :( .....just not hard enough!!!

I thought they were obsolete for XM's ...so was delighted Xantia ones fit and one happened to be on the 'bay too. Genuine Citroen part too.

Got a great pic of the Charleston I did for Frank. Looks good. I believe he sent it to you too.
