Russ, next time you are in the 'wild west' of Gloucestershire, you should have a shot of a 2.1 manual!

what you'll find is the smoothness of the engine from about 1200rpm in any gear! Lots of torque so you can leave it in 4th and 5th while driving round town!

No only 5 to 10 mpg better on fuel but also a massive performance increase too.. the manual over the auto performance is pretty impressive really.. makes them very different cars..

I did think of you when I saw it.
I would have it anyway as yours would then be perfect.
I wonder if we should be doing a group buy, strip and scrap, on this car. All of us converge on it one weekend and work at it like a shoal of Piranhas, then have the shell collected on the Monday.

Bit of a distance for me, but I am creating a shopping list from this car!
It is a pity as the owner wants to see it go to a good owner, but....BUT...if it has good parts, I think it's a great idea.
Yep...driving a manual will be fatal and make mine feel very very slow. Ah well...gonna happen at some point!

Far from it . . . far from it.

My first thought was to buy and renovate this old motor, but time and space says no . . . but the above, now that is a thought.
