Yeah the rear wheel could do with moving in a bit... but the SM and DS were like that. Its a standard XM wheel base, but the roof has been chopped and raked back a bit.
It could of worked.... Ahhh. need to win the euro millions and realise it!

I prefer the standard length version, it looks like a proper GT car for crossing a continent in style and also I'm fed-up with the mess that cutting rear seat passengers legs off makes.

I know...should have gone for leather seats...

DS cabriolet were based on the safari platform, so had a longer wheelbase than the saloon.

Did you lengthen the front door on your first design?

I did. But not by a huge amount. The doors are intended to be frameless like the SM. Retain the quaterlight, but have frameless glass window. Doubt it would do much for head room getting in.
The waist line kink was brought forward a tad too.

I have to admit I agree with you, which is why my original design retained the standard wheel base. A proper wheel base would mean proper rear seating and a genuine GT as you say Will.

Sorry Russ, there are some cars that look well after being assaulted by the designers pen - and there's some that don't.

And that looks bloody awful! The XM is an executive cruiser, not a yuppie toy.

2nd one is better, GT car? Phffft!. That second design needs a big engine in the front, drive at the rear and no back seats, an owner of such a car would never be stupid enough to have children and would know passengers are annoying on long journeys.

End of

AHHH, very true.... No pony tails and red braces allowed, they all drive 911's anyway!

I have been thinking of engines Dean. How about V6 turbo, ideally 24V, four wheel drive nicked from the BX and Activa suspension.
Not a complex car at all!
