Re: A V6 24v Manual S1 Life Spared!!
It has indeed. The car is running brilliantly and has been reunited with it's 2nd owner from new. My folks bought it almost 20 years ago to the day. My dad thought the car had been scrapped and crushed so he was absolutely gob smacked when I presented him with it this evening.
This picture was taken at the Farm Shop Services on the M6 on the way home this afternoon.
When I got home with the car, dad wasn't home so I put the XM car cover over the car and waited for him to get home. When I told him I'd bought him a present I revealed the number plate from under the cover and he couldn't believe that it was his old car as he thought it had been scrapped and turned into baked bean tins.
There's a few little odd jobs to do on the car, nothing major though as Paul has done nearly all of it. Paul wasn't happy handing it over this morning as it wasn't perfect, he wanted to get it 100% before he gave it back. I'm quite pleased though as it lets me do some tinkering with it anyway
David.

Sad to see her go.. But not sad after a drive in one as i still have a 24v manual myself.

Well done Paul and David for saving this car and hopefully your Dad will be keeping her now David! I believe there are only four roadworthy rhd S1 24v known to us on the Forum. With regards, Matthew T.

Well done on fixing that car up, it needed quite a lot of welding surgery.

citroenxm I believe it's worth it too, if there's a glimmer of hope to save these cars then it should be done.
It'll be alright in the end, if it's not alright, it's not the end.

Seconded, well done Paul, it's a credit to your hard work and attitude.Dieselman wrote:Well done on fixing that car up, it needed quite a lot of welding surgery.
Also, David, that's a fantastic thing you did surprising your Dad with it, I'd love to do something like that, I'm sure he's over the moon with it.

They are comming out the wood work. Though they are still the most scarse of the models i think.

Re: A V6 24v Manual S1 Life Spared!!
I don't know, 24v prv cars seem to be popping up left right and centre while everything else fades away, they will meet in the middle at some point. Probably less manual SED mk1's than 200bhp prv's already.
