Today we were walking the captain and suddenly turned the corner where our car was parked. I said : wow! and realised only after a split second I had the keys in my pocket :) Happy moments!

I thought it was a S1 cos of the nose cone, I guess I should have peeked a look inside but the owner/mechanic who looked not a day over 90 kept eyeing us up suspiciously when we were taking a photo of it so I don't think he would have appreciated me peering in the windows.

I think the S2 did come out in late '94 though so could be either.

Got a PM from Jason Grace of this forum, saying that he passes that car twice a year and it's been there for at least 6 years, never moved. I think we can assume it's not a pending job for a customer.....

S2 did come out in '94. My second XM was January '94 and the S2 came out after the August shut down that year.

Yea, BOTH models are available in uk M plates. I always assumed M was 95, but its 94/95 so the useual cross over applies.

Im still SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed off with myself for letting that Black M reg S1 go.. Never forgiven myself!

Who'd leave a car in the road for 6 years, and with the plates on? :?
Probably things are different here where I live. As long as the license plates are not turned in and the registration nulled you get billed for automobile taxes to the tune of something like 65,000 yen per year for the XM.

In the UK and Eire, you can declare the car SORN, so no tax to pay. The only way to de-register a car is to declare it scrapped.

This car is still on the road. I passed it about 3 weeks ago driving home and when I got to the garage where it usually sits it wasn't there so I assume it was this same car - not too many silver series 1 estates around here! :D
