Very nice Jaap. His and hers XM's.....Fortunately you have different alloys, so you won't mix them up!

I'm sure they will serve you both well.

Very nice Jaap. Almost a matching pair!!!

DERV is a term not much used nowadays. I believe it might have originally been coined to differentiate the diesel for road use and the diesel for agricultural and marine use with is duty-free. They term 'Heavy Oil' which appears in the UK registration document to describe the fuel a diesel car runs on is equally archaic.

It never seems all that heavy to me... Maybe it once was.

Elizabeth's SX has been updated recently with cream leather and carpets, electric windows all around and the strange boot window....:) It was more work than I anticipated. Effectively the SX has become a VSX now and has working remote control again as well....Next job will be the tow..

I do have a strange thing I cannot figure out yet. When cold and starting the engine, there is a smell of petrol in the car. I check fuel hoses weekly but they are bone dry as well as the injectors and rail. Also the fuel pump area is totally dry. With my nose on top of all these items I do not smell the faintest smell of petrol, it is only inside the car we notice it.

Jaap, mine smells a bit of petrol sometimes and again all is dry and tight. Odd. Just an XM thing maybe..

I do note that if you're filling the tank to the brim it often spits back at you and the smell can linger for days. maybe that's it..

I like the cream upholstery. Very tasty but just remember that cream and oily clothes do not go together very well

I know as I have cream in my Xantia V6 and I have to be very careful to make sure I'm always clean...
