I think for that money they only change the belt and nothing else. Bad economy in my opinion, go for the full set and include the water pump and new coolant and pay for it accordingly. I can see the point the citroen dealer is making - get the car in more often for more repairs :) Changing the water pump and coolant really isn't much work at all.

Thanks Paul and Jaap.

Your thoughts mirror mine. I will advise, but it might fall on deaf ears!

Not my problem though. ;)

Actually Paul, I think your advice has been taken on board. :D a water pump and coolant change might just well be insisted on.

Thanks again.

I absolutely agree. I've had it happen where I thought a water pump was OK only for it to fail catastrophically two weeks later with snow on the ground..

Advice: Don't eat the blue snow ;)

I wouldn't let a franchised dealer change a water pump. I have had the studs that hold water pumps break before. You don't want the dealer's apprentice to break them all! Take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Well the decision has been made to insist that the pump is done too.
But it isn't my decision where the work is all done. We will see. It's all booked for Thursday.....

HA...the cambelt issue rumbles on...sort of!

Warners have now changed their tune and insisted that the pump be done. So there first person who said no need, is talking out their you know what!
So of course they inflated the price. A firm no thanks I can do it cheaper else where, has changed their tune and will match the cheapest price found so far. So all sorted and booked in. Bloody Dealers!

On other things, went to Dyrham house today on a family outing! Near Bath...for those who don't know. Nice place, could have some great Citroen Rallies there!!! Anyway, car spotting, after saying older Citroens where dying out...saw a BX estate, Zx Volcane 5 door and a Maroon Traction Avant. :D Not bad!
