Well i get the new company car tomorrow....its nothing flash or anything...but hooray its french

A Renault Scenic

I dont know what colour it is yet, but the best bit is i dont have to punish the xm every day dragging it around in this ice and snow. I might buy a car cover for winter and park it all week covered and then drive it on the weekends

Cool, better than a Corsa hey Jim!!!!
A car cover would be a good idea for myself, I had to wash off a disgusting amount of bird muck off the XM this morning. Couldn't see out of the windscreen!

A Corsa? I'd rather walk
Car covers are a jolly good idea Russ. I could do with two - one for the XM and one for the Activa. Keeps snow off too...
I'm sure birds are evolving better aiming accuracy over time; it is remarkable how they seem to get the windscreen every time

Oooerrr A Scenic... Well, if its a brand new one you shouldn't get a turbo issue, I think renault have sorted that now, anyway, I think earlyer turbo issues were down to oil service intervals that were FAR to FAR apart from each other... Halving the interval saw longer life..
Anyway.. I like the idea of a scenic, nice high ish up, and space.. Wait till you need to change the Air Filter!! Its REALLY neat way to do it! (I know, Ive done one on the last series, not sure if the new one is the same though)

Jim, birds are all laser guided now....they like bonnets too
I just know what will happen if I get a car cover and use it....it will be nicked.
I have always thought Renaults had brilliant interiors. So the scenic should be a good company car. The current models look very good too. The new Capture is a hint Renault design is getting back on track. Been a bit underwhelming of late.

One of my neighbours keeps his Jag under a car cover Russ and I notice its is a lockable one - there's wire ropes attached to it that go under the car and are fastened with padlocks...

That's a good idea. Now being totally paranoid...are they flame proof? Cos that's my other pessimistic worry, some joker trying to set fire to it! Should have more faith really!

Yes, I think they are by their nature Russ. I'm pretty certain they're not easy to set on fire at all - not that I've tried mind...
Things like that don't happen in Cheltenham do they? Surely not?

No, I must admit Cheltenham is not like downtown Detroit.... but because we're quite close to the town centre you can get the odd drunken fool who tries something. On New Year's Eve 2010/11 someone kicked the boot in on the KA I had at the time.
This Christmas, I found some very strange white chocolate like stuff on the XM. Two stripes of it. Right Polava getting it off. No damage though Fortunately.
I very much doubt someone would set fire to a car cover, but I would hate that to happen...well anyone would!
