That is an amusing post Jim!! Strangely enough last weekend we went to the East Anglian Transport Museum near Lowestoft, Suffolk, which sounds like a very similar set up, except that the cafe was not that great! With regards, Matthew T.

Indeed Peter As I explained to my friend who looked incredibly puzzled at the notice and then was even more bemused by the prospect of running a wireless from an accumulator and taking it on a bus journey to be charged It used to be a staple task of both wireless shops and bicycle shops I believe.
Ahh those were the days, 2V accumulator for the filaments, a tapped 9v grid bias battery and a whopping 90 or 120v high tension battery.
How wireless has progressed It seems a world away from the latest DAB radios...
