flippin' computers.....
Well not really. More like inept users.......
My other half tried to put a second e-mail address on Orange. Since then every time we try and log in to check mail ,or more importantly to access the Orange account ,the home page disappears as soon as we try to enter the user name.
Mail can still be accessed through Outlook Express but that is no help in getting to the account pages.
Please, has anyone got any suggestions ?. ( Er, no, not that sort......)
Cheers CarlG

Hi Carl,
When you say the page 'disappears'... what happens exactly, does it go blank when you hit the submit button, after inputting your details, or is it something else?

Hi Ciaran,
It Just goes away as though I'd closed it and leaves the desktop displayed. There is something that flashes up in a pop up box before closdown but much too fast to read.
Cheers, Carl

Re: flippin' computers.....
Sounds like some script error on the page killing off the browser. You could do worse than trying to clear your cache / temp files.
It could also be an addon causing it to crash too.

Hello Ciaran ,
Sorry for the delay was out all day yesterday.
Tried clearing temp files /cookies .........no change.
I forgot to mention when we lost the login capability two icons appeared on the desktop . one is for wancatcher and the other a tracetxt log in notebook. Detail below

As far as I know wancatcher is something to do with orange, and I thought I saw wan. and maybe run......??... in the popup box. Where the desktop icons appeared from and why is unknown to me.
Also swmbo tried a roll back previously with no change.
If it is a script error as you suggest is there anything can be done?.
Cheers Carl

Re: flippin' computers.....
Hi all,
No response then. However whatever the problem is it may be an Internet Explorer related thing
I loaded Firefox and, Voila !! ,able to access all personal pages on Orange that couldn't be got off I.E..
If anyone has any ideas as to why, I'd still like to know.
Firefox, and it's add ons and plug ins does look rather interesting though.
Cheers, Carl G.

Hi Carl,
Sorry I didn't see your original reply.
It would seem some component of IE may be corrupt, so possibly a reset or reinstall of it would help.
What version is it again?
Ciarán

Re: flippin' computers.....
Hi
I changed to firefox on the Advise of Andmcit i think, a month after buying my new laptop, but ie played up in a different way for me, loading pages and searches became slow and it would outright refuse to log onto Flickr for some strange reason to start with, then a few days later i could fire it up get the google search homepage, log on here then it would freeze and come up with ie not responding, and it would just sit there frozen until you restarted the program and it would do it all over again maybe 10 times, then the os would start crashing with it, it was a right mess so i ditched ie and went with firefox, its much better, occasionaly it will freeze and say 'not responding' when you first come online but it only lasts a few seconds untill normal service is resumed, much better.

Re: flippin' computers.....
Hi Dean,
I can't really say that IE is giving any real grief exept for the Orange thing but Firefox seems Ok so far. Don't know if it's my imagination or not but things seem quicker ...........or maybe it's 'cos I've not got so much stuff on it yet????? Anyway, something new to play with.
Cheers for now. Carl G.
