Vince's xm - 2.1TD daily driver
Hi guys, i guess id better start a blog on here seeing as how i am now the proud owner of citroenxm's old (series 1.5)2.1td xm
What greeted me when i turned up
Then the work commenced on the spheres...the rain doesnt show but it was lashing it down and windy too
After getting it home and a quick wash down
its now our family hack and daily driver so returning it to near concorse is going to take some time, but ill get there ;)a

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm 1993
Today saw work start on the rolling resto clean up project
Naturally the underside of the xm is going to take priority to stave off corrosion, but also the top half is easy for anyone to do....not many people do the underside too
Front subframe as it greeted me earlier on
With the rust brushed off a nice new coat of smooth black hammerite now covers it which should keep it corrosion free for a while at least plus it loosk so much better
Next up were the top mounts. These are being painted to help keep them dry and water proofed. The undersides will be sealed once the arches are done There is no rush on these as luckily they are like new almost
That was the main job for today....i also cleaned and waxed the passenger side door shuts and door bottoms and edges. They now look like new again

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm 1993
that has the best XM wheel trims ever!
I liked them so much my S2 hatch sports them too.
Need to get a couple for the S2 estate as I already have two.

I need to get my polishing cap on, you've transformed that car already.
I might just bring mine to CXM and let you loose on it for a day...

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm 1993
with dry weather and some power tools its amazing what you can achieve in a short period of time.
It seems a rather large burden of expectation is building for its exhibition at the CXM.....Im so busy running up till then i hope i get some quality time in on it.

Having a rotary polisher isn't the problem...

It is looking very smart already Vince
Yes, we are all expecting to see your 2.1TD looking like a factory fresh car at the CXM No, seriously, it looks good as it is
We're trying to get three cars ready for the ICCCR, however, you have done one of them for us
