I find it surprising just how different the grille and bumper makes a S2 from an S1. It almost seems to change the shape of the car.

I agree Will, especially as the series 2 bumper is slightly deeper, plus there are the headlight washers, although in this case the highly contrasting colour is also a factor! I very much prefer the series one grille and the mirrors etc. The series 2 bumper could be mistaken for a early C5!! With regards, Matthew T.

I've just twigged why it is. The S1 grille is set lower than the headlamps bottom edge, which makes the front end look a bit droopy.

The S2 looks a lot more modern then the Series 1 does.

As a car they are totally different to drive, the 24v Series 1 is quick and the power delivery is quite noisy (absolutely brilliant noise though!!) and the manual box makes it a great fun car to drive. The Series 2 24v is very smooth, quiet and is still quick (although not as quick!).

They're like chalk n cheese really!

Only thing I wish the S1 24v had is cruise control.

The series 2 bumper could be mistaken for a early C5!!

Thats the biggest blow from the series 1 camp on Series 2 Xms!! Confusion for a Xantia is bad enough, but a C5!
