Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

Colours vs XM Series

Post by Geoff Lebowski » Sat Jan 29, 2011 7:13 pm

sigh..............I really do have the Xm bug. I've been sniffing around J Dyanes SED but it's just not quite the right time.

I have yearnings for an earlier model, I know the S 1.5s are supposed to be the 'best' or at least, far better than the early ones. However I really...........really fancy a Gold one.........no - not real gold! It reminds me of my fathers B plate BX in Sphinx Gold. I've seen one or two in pictures and even those make me drool. But, was gold only available in the Mk 1s or also Mk 1.5s?

As a perfect combination, a Gold V6 would be my dream XM :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

Matthew was the first person I thought of when Gold Xms were mentioned.

Most gold Xms will be series 1s, but there was a nice gold S2 for sale a good while back on autotrader.

My dad had a Gold 2.0si, the joke of it was we bought a white hatch from some kid who was driving it with no tax or mot because he bought the gold one with a snapped cam belt from a dealer and needed a head, the white one had a carb , i distictly remember because he was unsure if the heads were the same, of course they were.

I loved that car, we had a fight with it and my XR2 in the end and it went to scrap as some lhm leaks accured and citroen quoted ££££££££££££ for the job :( :( .

Really nice colour

Oooooooo those two V6s are gorgeous! I love gold on an XM - think they look better in the flesh than in a piccy mind. The Platinum Grey is lovely too - same colour as my 16v which i just love to bits.

I don't suppose either of those V6s are up for sale??????

The M plater S2 looks nice, but I rekon it suits an S1 better to be honest.

At Sratford there was a rather awkwardly lovely Metallic Green - not Triton, but a much lighter shade that for some strange reason is making me think of 60-70s pottery :? :? Too much Tanglefoot last night perhaps

There was a V6 in that pale metalic green for sale for a couple of hunded £ a little while back, noit sure it sold tbh and may well be scrap now, shame.

I cant see Mtxm selling his gold V6 or any of his xm's tbh, again, shame

Oooooh, was that the one ebay? There were two weren't there? One without the front bumper on as it was long to fit in the garage or something!
