Right well. the Blue one I KNOW what that is!

Its from a S1 or 1.5 XM, and it controls the Interior lighting and dimming!!

I had this problem on my Black 1994 Onyx, the lights would dimm after a door close, then suddenly come back on and stay on...

I somehow traced it down to this blue box, swapped it for another and hey presto worked perfect ever since..

As for the other two, they live in the same area, I think the one with MORE pins is the Central locking control box, S1 again...

Thats why I specifically said S1 and 1,5 cars...

The Locking system is completely different in S2 cars - simmilar to whats found in the Xantia, but with an RF box instead of IR reciver and dumb box. This box also controls interior timer

Ha! so 2 out of three, well i'll wait a while then find some other obscure parts to post.....

Yeah I *think* the blue box is also on mercs, and I say this as a fault with the XM is the light coming on in cold weather when the tired-battery voltage drops, which then flattens your battery, so if you have that fault, time for a new battery....

Thing is I think it was my s2 that did it, so if the dimmer is in the s2 locking unit, does that mean its possible mercs have same locking unit...... thought for the day...
