Thanks dieselman. I think my most difficult bit will be finding a piece of tarmac that doesn't vary by more than 25mm! Sounds like a good days work to me (allowing for beer breaks).

I have just spent 2 weeks in France but on the bike. I saw quite a few XM's over there with one lucky sod having 3 parked in front of his house. I didn't stop to photo them as he may have thought I was casing the joint!
