Idiot.

Seems my not being in the CCC any more was a good move then if the extremely
juvenile attitude illustrated above is felt by those who frequent it's meetings and
forum. This does have WUM written all over it though. Possibly a dose of frustration
with a particularly bad car?

Yes, OK, I love my Cx's but like Xm's too!

And Gs's and GSA's. And Xantiae and 2CV's...

give me a bigger barn and I'm sure I'd have a few Ds's and H vans too!

No C5's though Chris! Have to draw the line somewhere but not physically on
one of them! ;)

Don't any of you people have a sense of humour

Everytime I must work on the heap of sh!t XM I feel like doing that to it ............ after first atacking it with a sledge hammer and flame thrower

Didn't you know, CX's are crap ??? Terrible bloody things, you should get a proper car like a DS rather than a CX (and so on ......). You know, a bit like you guys here saying how terrible C5's are compared to an XM (strange, surely no car could be as expensive to buy parts for or appalling to work on as an XM :o  :o  ... If the C5 is even worse than the XM it must be a trully appalling car ).

Well, I certainly do have a sense of humour. And in isolation, it wouldn't be too bad - ill-judged maybe, but not truly offensive.... but it is only a single example. Water off a duck's back personally, but I was illustrating a lack of appreciation of Club spirit.

I find this all quite funny.

Having owned 35 different microcars over the years, I have learned to ignore all of the jibes and comments from people with supposedly better cars!

I guess with my messerschmitt, I get to have the last laugh over the TVR and Triumph Stag owners who looked down their noses at it as it is now worth twice what their cars are worth, and is now more expensive to buy than some Ferraris.

My experience of XMs has been a bit rubbish - bought two, both ended up with rather expensive faults very quickly. However, my experience of CXs is just the same. The XM is a great car, but we all know that. Let the CX owners have their fun and ignore it.

We don't have to defend the XM .... there just isn't a better car, we know that ;)

I had to drive my wife's Astra convertible last friday - it confirmed to me how nice my two daily drives are! The smart is fun and economical and it encourages you to take the racing line ... whereas the XM is a joy to drive, relaxing, yet also handling nicely for such a large car, with a good ride and superb economy!

Yes, I know the feeling...... :x

Although I agree that the XM is the nicest car I've driven, I have to agree with Shane. When things go wrong, the XM can be a complete bastard to put right :x

It could be that the blue estate in the picture was a TCT and the poor unfortunate owner had been trying to remove the exhaust manifold :x :x :x

Maybe it's something about them being French, but these cars really seem to have a bad attitude  .

I'm convinced my white SX is laughing at me ............... :?

I haven't had an XM break down for about five years, the BMW I just bought - 6 days, but its almost a pleasure to work on.

That pictured Xm Estate was apparently a 2.0i 16v - i think automatic with well over 100K. The thread on the CCC forums gives a bit more detail, from memory it had been stood aroud for a few years as a storage shed. It was not owned by the people who sprayed it though, i dont think they had anything to do with it before then. Given its spec and standing time it was basically worthless and probably not worth repairing. Though still, it would have had many good bits.

We have been lucky with our Xms, none have given any real serious or hard to fix problems, yet!

Wouldnt the world be a boring place if we all liked the same cars  Still, i think putting that on a Citroen forum is a little much.
Chris.
