Odd, the first series of pictures are 'not viewable in your region'.

Images hosted on various platforms are no longer accessible in the UK, but can be viewed from almost all the rest of the World. As an account holder, I can't even access the account to find which images these are.
I need to find time to rebuild the threads.
If someone that can see these images can record which they are I can rebuild the posts from locally saved images.

That is so sad. There is some censorship going on I know..... But XMs... are they a danger to the 'ruling class'....

After finding the tailgate lamp seals tend to leak at the upper edge, I removed the light units, added the plastic strips to push the rubber seal upwards and added mastic, before refitting the lamp units: same as the Cobalt car, which has a post detailing the process. viewtopic.php?p=133941#p133941

This image shows the seal as originally installed. The seal is only slightly under the metalwork and is being pressed downwards as a result, further reducing it's effectiveness.
In this image You can see water glistening in the joint between the seal and metal edge.

I had also noticed the tailgate seal has shrunk and was pulling away at the upper left corner, so removed and refitted the seal, then cut a section of seal and added it into the gap left at the bottom edge.

Seal pulling away and the gap at the lower joint.
As manufactured, these seals are bonded together at the joint, to create a continuous seal. Due to shrinkage the seals then pull out of the slightly dished section just below the upper corners, then off the upper corners, possibly allowing water to enter.

I removed and refitted the seal, ensuring it was sufficiently relaxed to go down into the rebated section, below the upper corners. Ensure the inner trim seal is correctly placed, otherwise as well as the interior plastics edges being exposed, the seal will tend to push off the metal upstand.

I then cut a piece of seal to fill in the gap at the bottom edge.

As this car is not in use, the seal had become very stuck to the tailgate, making it difficult to open, so I treated the seal with silicone to allow it to slip and not stick.
All seal and bumper dressings are silicone based, so it doesn't matter what you use, anything from household spray wax/polish, to silicone grease, will work.
