Parts -
- full return hydraulic pipe set
From regulator to reservoir minimum, there has been some further butchery, so any that can be obtained.

- regulator
- FDV
- Radiator Fan loom (if available)
Minimum is the blue connector from the radiator blue thermo-switch to the loom and a section of said loom.

Do you mean the exhaust centre silencer? Centre and rear sections would be useful. Turbo exhaust may be larger bore pipe, but not insurmountable.

I would obtain an FDV either to use now, or possibly at a later date. Possibly a doseur valve as well, but in due course.

Thanks Will, I'll try to recover as much pipework as possible including the metal / rubber one.

I may already have a spare front loom, if not there is still one on the parts car. Does it have to be a single fan version or will any S1 do?

Exhaust and spheres I can check when they are off the car.

For the pipework, it's the nylon return pipes that are required, especially the one from the pressure regulator to the firewall. As already said, there is further hacking, so the complete set back to the reservoir would be good.

The operational return is the metal pipe from the FDV, which is sound.
On Ahmad's car the shuttle "T1" in the pressure regulator is missing, so all fluid is returning to the reservoir via the leak off/atmospheric return, which should only see a pulse of fluid as the shuttle changes direction.
The reason I suggest obtaining the FDV as well is that the regulator doesn't directly control the return flow, it actuates the shuttle in the FDV which returns the fluid to the reservoir.
Due to the regulator not building any pressure, it's not known whether the FDV actually functions yet.

FDV connections shown in attachments.

For the fan wiring, the fan does actually run if controlled manually, by a switch, but the blue connector for the radiator fan switch and a section of wiring are missing, as is the relay behind the left headlamp, hence the complete front end wiring would be useful.
No problem boiling some water for a cup of tea though...;)

I have now removed the regulator and FDV but not the return pipes. The returns are buried under the inlet pipework and I ran out of time to do those.

Is the metal pipework intact on your car Ahmad? The reason for asking is mounting position - it's the opposite way round on the CT auto. FDV is to the right below the gearbox oil cooler.

All the metal piping is sound.
The only pipe required is the nylon one that connects to the black cap on the side of the pressure regulator.
Even that might be shorter on the CT, but that can be dealt with.

Apologies if my images caused confusion, they are of a 2.1Td, they were only there to show the pipework that is connected to an FDV.
On the 2.0i manual, the regulator is lying flat where the CT FDV is and the FDV is to the centre.
Regulators and FDV move around depending on engine version and whether manual, or automatic gearbox.

Those images were for a member where the garage had connected the pipes in the incorrect order.

Return pipes have now been removed, together with the feed pipe to the pump. The thick rubber return has a T into it from the steering rack and the nylon pipe just pushes into another rubber pipe near the reservoir. All the other return pipes are still on the car and disconnected, let me know if any more are needed.

That's good to hear the metal pipes are OK,there must be quite a few variations as you say.

It's funny to find DS type clamps (Mirex?) being used on the XM, despite all the other technological advances.

Mirex/Ligarex banding is quick to install, cheap, very compact, but most importantly gives perfectly even clamping of round items.

That nylon pipe that pushes into the rest of the return loom is broken off and partially missing, so is definitely required.
There appears to be some other "modification" to the return pipework behind the reservoir, so as much as possible, please.
