Gasa XM 2.1 "Prestige"

Today I experimented with the relays, they all work and have power, the fans work one, two, high and low speed.
But it all works when I give them contact manually, now I know which relay is for what, they don't stand on their bracket, so they were mixed up.
The two green ones are for turning on the fan, this black one is for the speed.


I numbered them to know which relay turns on one fan which turns on two.

...when I give them the ignition manually, everything works as it should both when the engine is turned off and when it is turned on.

...so everything works manually, but still when it reaches the temperature it won't turn on the fans, I also directly connected the shielded plug from the temperature sensor, nothing happens.

What gives the command to start the fans.

...it seems that the problem is with this Bitron, it has control on the fans, these days I will replace it and see if there are any changes.

It could be.
The Bitron box shunts the Gnd side of the relays to Gnd to make them operate on Bitron unit, Pin 1 and Pin 10. (Relays Pin 2) You will see +12v at the connections until the Bitron unit switches the relay on, then the conenction will shunt to Gnd,
Is that happening, if not, is there power and Gnd to the Bitron unit.

Batt +ve is Pin 4
Ign +ve is Pin 15
Gnd is Pin 3.


It could be the sensor is U/s. I don't have the resistance values, but see if it reads similar to the blue and green ones for a given water temperature.
Like you, I would think disconnecting it might well turn the fans on as a fail-safe mode.

...problem solved, I opened the box to the driver's side to check the Bitron, the connector was pulled out of the Bitron, now everything works, the fan turns on when the air conditioner is turned on, and when the engine reaches 90 degrees.

... some small problems, sometimes it turns on the STOP lights, sometimes it doesn't, I knew the problem was in the contact, I removed the switch and cleaned the contacts with sandpaper, so far it works fine.
I had a problem with the cable, the connector of the switch, the "experts" from Citroen fixed the problem that the connector could not be pushed through due to the screw being unnecessarily long, I solved the problem by cutting the cable and connecting it with a clamp.

..and modification for easier contact removal,behind the pedal there is a place to put it.

That pedal arm fixing is very different to a Rhd one, where there is no issue removing the pedal switch.
To stop arcing of the contacts there should really be a capacitor mounted in parallel, to act as a suppressor, obviously it was decided that it wasn't required.

I've been driving the BX for 20 years, now it's going to rest a bit, it's safer for me than the XM, there's nothing to break on it, there's nothing from the electronics.
