Hello,
I'm new here, from the Netherlands. I own two xm's, both with the PRV 24 valves 200hp. I ride the rouge mandarin almost daily, it has knocked 85000km, bought it with 27k. The vert vega is after extensive engine remake now only serving as a donor. Beside these I use a Citroen Mehari for short rides.

That Mandarin one looks stunning, how much work have you had to do to get it into that condition?

What's wrong with the green one?

The red I bought from France in 2008 with only 27000km. Most of the pictures are from then. I stored if from 2009 with 80000kms. A few months ago I started using it again. Then I put on a stainless exhaust, the still factory original not good anymore. No further special things with this one.
The green ik bought in 2007 with 140000kms. I rebuilt the engine, but other parts were no good, to much rust. Now I will sell many parts of it in the Netherlands en keep the engine and parts as spares for the red one.

Where did the green one come from?

Bought in Germany. Originally sold in Germany. Bought from near Dusseldorf from second owner.

Do the French ones generally rust less?

No, generally speaking I don't think so.
The red one was only used for several years and stored afterwards, being the car for a summer cottage of a well to do Frenchman who passed away.
The green one was heavily used, mainly stored outside and had chassis reparations.
Stil both countries offer some very little used and well preserved xm's at reasonable prices, much better than over here in the Netherlands.
Check for example autoscout.com (search "Europe") and leboncoin.fr for France.

Two very nice XM and especially the mandarin car! In my humble opinion the lhd S1 24v is the ultimate XM!! Many thanks for sharing the photos. Regards, Matthew T.

She is currently undergoing some light resto work, I have already rebuilt the subframe mounts under the rear...

MTXM is another 24v XM owner having a UK car and a German car.

One of the few cars I know of that will take its speedo to the MAX speed and pull to the red line in 5th.. Stunning motors! And yours must be what we call a Concours Model!!

Your mandarin car is absolutely stunning. :o 8-) Welcome by the way.
Both are lovely cars. I didn't really know what the fuss was about with the mk1 24V, until recently I had a go and ride in Matthews LHD car. And I can say they really are special. The sound is quite addictive. A real contrast to my clattery diesel!!
