New to the XM club

Hi there. I thought I'd introduce myself...but more importantly introduce my car.
It's a silver XM VSX Turbo Auto, first registered Nov 1998, and -gulp!- has all of 28500 mles on the clock.
I was given it as a birthday present in July, and it is a lovely drive.
However, it has started to do a few weird electrical things, and it looks as though there are hopefully some experts on here that might be able to advise.
If there is any one who might be interested I'll post the details.

Likewise, welcome to the forum. I wouldn't worry about 285k, I have had a couple with more than that :D Glad to know there is someone else in my kneck of the woods, I'm just on the border of East Devon.

Ok here goes.
Will also copy and try and repost on electrical bit.
Last week, battery warning light came on and climate control went phut.
AA checked battery and alternator, all fine.
Local garage stripped dash and found supplementary wire had been scotchlocked into system, probably bypassing other wiring. Re scocthlocked same into place, now have functioning climate control.
Battery warning light still on though, rev counter working erratically and intermittently. Also noticed that when rev counter not working, hydraulic display on the LH display not informing that normal suspension is in place. But does display radio stations etc on stereo.Ride feels as though suspension OK.
Checked over by auto electician today, no probs whatsoever with charging system. He is intrigued, and I have also found that rear screen demister non functioning as well.
So...any ideas peeps? And is there anyone out there that may have a wiring diagram for this model?
(Previous evaporated post probably slightly more comprehensive than this, but these are the bare bones of it!)

There are some wiring diagrams about that someone will point you to but since someone has been playing with the wiring this could be an interesting problem to solve, best thing to do i rip out any diy wiring especialy the kind with scotchlocks (argh) and then see what doesnt work.
The chances are the previous owners fix may have caused more problems than it solved and removing it will go a long way to curing the problem.

Have a feeling that the DIY stuff was in fact done by a Citroen 'specialist'! But hey ho. They are great motors aren't they? If it's OK with you, will copy all replies and send them to auto electrics bloke, as am only weedy girl and though might understand the general theory, am tempted to delegate nitty gritty.
