Yes, welcome to the club Rob. I started with a green 1995 VSX and now about a dozens XMs later!!!! My advice for the keypad is to programme it out, which the handbook will explain and that I have done on all my cars, mainly to preserve the lids from further damage. Hope to see you in the car at National and/or CXM. With regards, Matthew T.

Unfortunately I will going in the opposite direction to deepest South Wales.

I suspect we will be in the Megane

Taken the 15 year old daughter out this evening driving the XM around Salisbury Plain on the military road. She is getting quite confident in the auto but I suspect the transition to a manual change will take its toll on her grandfather's Felicia's clutch! The combination of military tracks and the Sprite is not one I wish to test. Plus the Felicia is pretty disposable

The Xm has a 80 litre tank Rob! 35mpg is a bit on the low side, you'd be wanting to get between 37 and 41mpg depending on how you drive it.

Yes I read the handbook and was very glad I didn't try and fill it from flat, about £110 by my calculation!

I need to get the hang of driving like an old git again! The Megane tends to encourage a more spirited type of driving and the Sprite just get flogged everywhere :D

In town coax the car up to 35, get her changing into 3rd, and ease off to 33mph.
