New Member, 2.5TD VSX Estate

Hello everyone - I've just bought a dark blue XM Estate... I've always kind of wanted one - when I ended up buying a Xantia turbo-diesel estate back in 2001 it was an XM that I really wanted. But the Xantia gave me years of faithful reliable service until it was stolen in 2008.
I'm hoping the XM can turn out to be a reliable long-distance tourer in a similar but even better way - I think they're magnificent machines. But, alas, I'm already having problems. I've started a thread on the free-for-all bit about that.

Hi and welcome.
I don't see another thread but can tell you are excited being up at 6:45am to join here and post about your car.
I'm about to do battle with the cylinder head gasket monster in a minute..

Alas, it's more that I've only had two hours sleep between getting back to my girlfriend's flat in the breakdown truck and getting in a cab at four this morning to get to work at five... and most of the time been worrying that I've seriously broken my new car that I was enjoying so much

Once I've sorted the immediate coolant/overheating problems, is a non-functioning sunroof something that might be fixable by a novice tinkerer without a great deal of mechanical experience?
