On the V6 petrols keypad to ECU lack of communication can also be a poor connection on the group of relays on the FRONT of the ecu box...

I know this from my own. with the ignition switched on, go under the bonnet and do some wire and harness "wiggleing", and listen for the ECU's and relays clicking as it hopfully makes the connection.

I drove all the way to Yorkshire once in my V6 SEi, only to stop for some food, then when I got back in the car nothing, both lights on... I was stumped for ages, so with the ignition on, I did as above and she burst into life...

As I said, it was the relays and Cruise computer area which was causing a problem. I couldn't put them back in the proper position, and had to leave them at an angle for the car to work.

Which sounds like dry/cracked solder joints inside the housings.

Thanks John for your help. I'm going to buy a new battery and then check the connections as suggested. Just one question where's the ECU? I cannot remember, is it under the front seat?

Thanks John for the advice. We have changed the battery and done all you suggest but to no avail. It would appear that everything points to a bad code. I've checked and double checked with the owner and she confirms the code is correct. Everything suggests that someone has changed the code, who remains a mistery. If I'm right how do we overcome it? If you read the manual it says that if you lose the code the only solution is a new fuel injection computer, is this right and if so is there a cheap alternative to Citroen prices? Any suggestions gratefully received.

HI

What colour lights are showing on the keypad?
List this out for us.
We need to be certain about the state of the car before you get think about getting replacement ECU's.
Then we will need to fix on model and age.

Contact ECU testing as they might be able to recode it. http://www.ecutesting.com/index.html
