Hi guys,
I'm Luke, 19, and from Belfast. A huge french car fan myself, and have long lusted after an XM, among other big Citroens such as the BX and Xantia.
I have to admit, I'm more of a Renault geek, with a huge love for the Vel Satis in particular.
At the moment I have an '03 Vel Satis 2.2 dCi which is currently for sale, and my main car is a 2.0 VVT Renault Mégane (Also '03).
I've had a BX, and a Y reg Citroen C5 3.0 V6 Exclusive SE, which I really miss!
Anyway, look forward to learning much more about the XM, and will hopefully be driving one myself if a certain person doesn't buy up every single one left in NI (you know who you are).
Cheers

He knows you're after one, that's why he keeps crashing them...
Just keep looking, one will turn up. Maybe even 'The Hoarder' will sell you one of his.

Hi, welcome to the club, if you want to know about XM's you have come to the right place. I have been running them for about 14 years and have not found anything better for ride comfort, space and economy (2.1 manual diesels) and once sorted they can be very reliable too. They are getting a bit thin on the ground now but if you can find what you want represent excellent value for money.

Thanks Peter. I'd love a Phase 1 V6, but as you said, XMs are getting harder and harder to find, so I'll have to take what I can get!
Roughly six months ago, there was a white V6 SEi on eBay in England that went quite cheap, that would've been ideal.

Meaning you don't need anymore!! In fact I might set off early in the morning and head for Cookstown to prevent you adding to that number

There is that V6 SEi in need of putting back together on the bay for the last couple of months.

I have been running them for 13 years - actually my present XM is just the second one. The first one, a 1995 V6 Exclusive I bought new

Real economy I don't get with the V6, but that's OK because I don't cover a lot of kms.
They are getting thin on the ground here in Japan too. A quick search on google only a year or so ago would produce 10 to 15 XMs for sale. Now I can find only one

I'm afraid they are being scrapped in spite of having less than 100,000 kms on the odometer.
Good luck with finding value for money!

I'm after the second one!! Emailed him after I saw his ad on Gumtree. If my ebay auction for the Vel Satis does well, and quotes for transport aren't too bad, I may well go for this one, sounds very exciting indeed. Thanks for pointing this out. I did look at the first one, but because of where it was it would have been too difficult.
And XMs in Japan?? Wow, I would never have guessed. I have been to Hong Kong a few times and wouldn't have dreamt of seeing an XM there. A Mégane Cabriolet was as European as it got!
