				Hi Dave,
Thats the cars RP number, its a code to show when the car was manufactuered.
I think the paint codes for later series 2 cars is on a sticker in the drivers door shut where the information on the tyres is.

				Hi Dave & Robert
I think that change to all the information on the drivers door sticker was made much later in production than your car.
On car of the 7xxx age it is usually found painted in 30mm high letters on the chassis just behind the passenger headlight.
By 8xxx they were painting it again 30mm letters but on the chassis just in front of the passenger side strut head.

				Hi Robert
I have a theory that what you need to get the best XM is a morning built car and preferably early in the week rather than a friday.

				Hi John,
Tuesday morning then. Monday mornings are no ones favourites! By Wednesday evening, people are probably flagging off!

				Hi Robert
My view is slightly coloured from sitting alongside the driver as he eats his bread and cheese and drinks his wine.
Spoils your concentration when you are trying to take photos through the windscreen of the French countryside moving towards you at close on 200mph.
