I live in Denmark and have old Citroen from 1990. Normal it runs ok but now it sometimes have some start problem. It start ok run sometime 1 mill ant stop. The starter run ok but it will not start. Most of time it starts after lot of trying. One time it doesn’t start, so I be pull the car home, I open carburetor and cane see it god lot of fuel. We try to pull on tube for fuel, and god it started. Now it runs, but when I start, it in idle it go up and down in speed.
I have tried to feint some diagrams on net but don’t have any look. I hope someone can help, I have try the Danish but no help. Thank you. Carl

Welcome to the forum.
What engine does your XM have, is it a 2 litre carb model?

To see whether it's an ignition or fuelling problem try dribbling petrol down the carburettor while cranking the engine.

If it only runs for a minute when running normally, suspect the needle valve or fuel pump or relay.
