Popped my XM Cherry!

Morning fellow Hydractive fans, just thought I'd put up a 'Hello!' post and introduce myself before I, inevitably, have to start picking brains!

As a fan of interesting and old car, I'll hold my hand up at this point and admit to never having owned a Citroen or a diesel before, but have gone in at the deep end with a 2.1TD XM. Wish me luck, and I'll help out on the site wherever possible!

Thanks

Welcome Monkfish,

You should find XM ownership a rewarding experience.

Other than the boringly pedestrian 2.0 atmo petrol the 2.1TD is probably the best all round XM to own due to general reliability and relaxed driving.

What made you go for an XM so out of the blue?

I've always fancied them since I was a child and a friend of mine's Dad had a 3-litre Exclusive as a brand new company car. I was thinking about cheap turbo diesels when I was struck by inspiration! In my opinion, you wont find a more comfortable, well-equipped TD for the money: others in the cheapo price bracket included the usual Escort/Mondeo stuff, which just don't have the same character. Never mind being as comfortable or refined!
