Hi all.
I do not have an XM at the moment, but have had 1 x Series 1 2.0 petrol, 1 x Series 2 2.0Turbo, 1x 2.2 td auto Estate and, finally, probably the best all round car I ever had, a VSXTD25 Estate in green reg'n N609 YRX. If anyone knows if this car is still alive, Please let me know as I'd really like to own it again and continue my love affair with it. Back in the day I had some 15 CX's at various times!

It was sold to me by Terry Bollingmore of Teddington fame, to my mind, one of the last of the true Citroenistes/garageiste. YRX was one of the 'lost and found in the warehouse in Northampton' cars that were pre-registered to bolster sales figures and allegedly only rediscovered some 2 years later when someone at Slough was emptying the desk of a person who had been 'let go' and found a wodge of V5's. Obviously the cars were two years out of 'spec' and so sold off at advantageous prices.

I'm sure that story has been covered a thousand times on the forum, but hey, it's a great one if true.........!

So - if anyone knows the whereabouts of YRX - or really, has a green 2.5VSXTD estate for sale, please let me know.

Many thanks

Best regards

Simon

N609 YRX hasn't been taxed or MOT'd since 2004, so has probably been recycled, by now.

Quite a few late Xm were pre-registered to bolster sales figures, then drip fed into the market at a later date, if someone wanted one. I wouldn't put too much faith in the story.

A similar situation is happening now with electric cars, manufacturer concessions are pre-registering a significant number, then trying to sell them.
