New XM owner in Australia

Post by MelbMan » Mon Feb 16, 2026 7:14 am

Bought my first XM this morning, XMs are very thin on the ground here in Australia. One popped up last week, a 1992 4 cylinder 5 speed manual, it was a private import in 1997, has a MPH Speedo, white with black leather seats, a sunroof. The last XM in any sort of fit order I’ve seen was back in 2016.

The plate for the import is marked “XM Prestige”

Look forward to getting this home, cleaned up & back on the road.

Regards
John

White is a great colour for an Xm.

A Prestige is basically a 2.0I with manual leather seats. It was a Uk, Series-1 run out, special edition.

Thanks Dieselman for the identification.

Found a 1989 UK XM brochure online today.
It looks like I have a 2.0L injection and a spec pretty much the same as a 2.0 SEi. Alpine white with the black leather interior.
