I've had my XM for over four years as my daily driver and it's been great. It's a 1997 2.5TD Break which I got during COVID with only 77.000 miles on the clock. Apparently the previous owner had it for a few years and mostly used to go his place in France a couple of tmes a year so didn't build up the mileage much. I've added about 34,000 miles and it's been a great workhorse as I've used it for work, carrying all sorts of things with great panache.
This is my fourth XM with two other estates and one saloon; I've also had four BXs and four Xantias. They have all been good to drive, especially the BX GTi which was my first Citroen and mostly without any serious issues.
Generally what has gone wrong with my current XM has been age and wear related unlike the electrical issues on my first one which was a Series 1 which would have random failures which would sometimes cure themselves. It didn't put me off Citroens but I am aware that their electrics aren't always their strong point!
One thing more experienced members might be able to help with is to do with suspension spheres. I have seen two different values for the rear spheres, either 30 or 40 bars pressure and I'm not sure about sellers always knowing which one is right, Can anyone out there give a definitive answer?

For saloons it's 30 Bar, for estates it's 40 bar. Don't forget your car has Hydractive, so buy appropriate spheres.
