Paul she's a 2.0 turbo sei, first registered on 09/03/1990

My mistake... She was listed as having 130bhp so I just assumed it was a turbo... That's why you should never assume!

Model year 1992 Paul coinciding with the first S1 facelift - black trim, two-spoke steering wheel etc. Regards, Matthew T.

My documentation seems to agree with Paul on date for the engine introduction.
The Citroen engine description brief (XM 1 No 51) is dated 26 Feb 1993.
Also according to the document it seems the Mk1 facelift was not 1992 Model year either.
The announcement of that was XM 0 No 15 dated 29 Jan 1993 which is midway through the 1993 Model Year.
Page 7 of this document has a list of models and engines including future model releases but no mention of any XM with the RGY engine.
That suggests the higher power 2 ltr XM had its own publicity release just after the MK1 facelift.

Strange. Both mine are summer or were summer '92 cars with the twin spoke steering wheel and Etoiles alloys. Therefore I've always assumed they were facelift models.

The 1993 model year change was from the Summer factory closure in 1992, but what john is saying is that the Turbo engine wasn't introduced until January 1993.

I have checked this a different way.
There are some interesting tables and notes in RTA.
I will post details here later.

Hi John & Will,

The basis of my earlier comment was that my anthracite 2.0sei turbo had a RP number of 5806 that gave a build date of 1st October 1992. As it happened the car was also not registered in the UK until after August 1993 and therefore wore an 'L'.

I must admit I was not aware that model years started from the previous August and you may well correct about the official launch of the petrol turbo and S1 facelift.

With regards,

Matthew T.
