Spotted - Series 1 XM in Gold!

Quite the rare sight today - saw a Series 1 XM in Gold on the road!
I was driving my C4 down the March Bypass (A141) and it went the other way.
Unfortunately I couldn't catch the reg number as I was "making good progress" but might have ended in GVP...
Raised my arm and gave the thumbs up but no acknowledgment back from the driver.
Thinking about it, he probably wondered what some nutter in a boy racer C4 was doing...!

Maybe! I thought it might have been Matthew but didn't look like him.
I believe I saw it a few months back too, but forgot to post it up.

The laugh is, if this guy in the XM was about 5 minutes earlier he would have seen dad in a CX...!

Talking of which, what do you know about Cx roof panels rusting through in front of the sunroof. Is it easily fixable with a new roof panel and can they be got hold of in good condition?

CXs and rusty roofs? They all do that Sir...
Chop the rust out and welding fresh metal back in BUT it'll probably keep coming back.
Keeping the drain tubes clear and lots of waxoyl etc helps but if it's gone, then most probably keep coming back...
The ultimate fix its to chop the top roof skin off, weld a top roof skin from a scrapper non sunroof car and voila, no more rust or leaks.
Big job, but has been done a few times in the past. Davetherave has just done it with his CX.
You need to have the specific headlining board though, including all of the A, B and C pillar trims as they are different.
Fancy a CX then Will?
