I guess nowhere is perfect or will suit everyone Ian but what is the problem with LH? With regards, Matthew T.Little Horwood isn't much of a venue
Generally, I think I'm just a bit fed up of 'cars line up in a field' type events. It may be pleasant enough, but it is still just a field. What do you do once you've looked at all of the cars? If you're travelling vast distances (as I would be) you want a bit more than that.Dieselman wrote:I like Little Horwood, it's private, yet large enough, has decent driving roads nearby and isn't too near Milton Keynes...
Careful about doing timed driving challenges on public roads, but this is EXACTLY the sort of thing that would get me more interested. Last CXM Rally I attended had a convoy to Bletchley Park, which was fascinating. Truly fascinating. But this is why I prefer events to move around a bit. What else could we go and visit around the UK? Or have a scenic drive out, but only give the location, then have an award to see who can get there covering least mileage (recovery trucks and sat navs are considered cheating!).Dieselman wrote:
Rallies are what you make them. What about a timed driving challenge to a location but without the aid of any GPS/Satnav and only a basic map, or timed to be the closest to a set duration, with checkpoints en-route where you get the next checkpoint information?
