To advertise it on CCC forum, FB page and Citroenian, not at all. glad they want to do it.
But is it suddenly now considered a CCC rally? ;)

The dates are finalised with Cosford. I won't be able to make the meeting myself, although I hope to pop down for a couple of hours on the Sunday. Cosford have my contact details but it would be helpful if they could get the number of someone who is planning on attending for the whole weekend. Any volunteers?

We could also do with a Marshall or two to direct visiting cars to the relevant area, although the rally should be pretty self explanatory for anybody attending. I'm going to request that we can use the tarmacked area between the experimental hangar and the cold war museum (the latter especially is a great building) It's also next to the Dornier 17 which was recovered from the channel, so we can enjoy looking at pieces of corroded metal AND see a WWII German bomber (yak yak)

I need to let Cosford know the times people are hoping to arrive and leave on Saturday and Sunday, I suggest maybe 9am to 5pm, also approx how many will be attending? (I guess 30-50??) I dare say there will be some flexibility in the arrangements though so the world won't end if we show up early or bring 100 cars.

This is all very exciting!

It was great to hear the further encouraging developments, including confirmation from Tim that we have a booking for both days and the parking area is sorted. I am glad the CCC is happy to endorse the event which, correct me if I am wrong, although in some ways a replacement, is not CXM but a one-off to celebrate the XM25, albeit with all Citroens warmly welcomed! As mentioned earlier, I will be there both days and plan to travel up on Fri, so I could help with marshalling and any site set up as required. I can even be the contact person if needed. With regards, Matthew T. PS. My wife pointed out a typo in the poster with the spelling of accommodation Russ - sorry!!

Whoops Sorry! I did it on photoshop which doesn't have spell check annoyingly. You stare at these things for ages and little things like that can slip through. I will change that.

I am possibly going on the Friday too. Not sure yet.

Done!

I can put together some direction signs if that helps for the site, or if the CCC are now wanting in, then we can use theirs maybe.

I can help with volunteering/marshalling. I'll probably come down on the Fiday.

I agree, it's not really a replacement for the CXM, merely a gathering of Citroën nutters to celebrate 25 years of the wonderful and occasionally frustrating XM, that we all love and admire.

Is it now a CCC event? Not if we don't want it to be. It's entirely at our discretion.

Personally I think it would be slightly churlish to exclude it from the CCC calendar so to speak, but the choice is ours.

That's kind of how I feel about it too. ;) it really isn't a CCC event, but it's great they want to be part of it and acknowledge it.

Just to confirm that I have sent details of the event to three other UK XM enthusiasts that I know do not regularly visit the site, plus contacts in the German, Dutch and French XM Clubs I established through enquiries about my early V6. It would be great if we could get a good attendance over the two days including from overseas (not generally experienced with CCC events) and we have to get at least 25 cars there!! Regards, Matthew T.
