The route's settled in principle, although it might change to take into account camping et al.
If you are keen to take part, please visit the appropriate thread on BX club or FCF... or even CCC (!) ... or you can visit
http://www.philibusters.org (if that link works! It's a bit odd)....

Hi Phil,
I see you're passing by Mulhouse. Are you going to stop in at the collection Schlumpf, the largest car collection in Europe :
http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/en/schlumpf/
Also in that area is a huge breakers at Frottey les Lure, not terribly far from Belfort.

I have never seen as many 205s parked together in my life until I was in there.
Belfort is also a nice town worth a visit, and the Ballon d'Alsace the highest peak in the Vosges mountain range is well worth driving over on your way.

Schlumf will be an optional detour, but the scrappy's going to be on the itinerary I'm sure.

It's shaping up as an early May affair, with an advisory departure from Calais of the 9th May, (although joining the route from other ports of entry is an option too) arriving in or near Gap, (Alpes de Haute Provence region) for a Citroën Rally (hopefully including French car clubs) on Saturday 12th May. From there it's onwards and (literally) upwards, into the mountains (Alps and Jura Mountains in France and Switzerland), with arrival in Calais 16th May.
A bit more info:

Would those wanting to attend please let me know as soon as you can. I'm operating to a limit of 30 teams, and although the first submission of interest only amounts to a pencilling in (with no fee due!) it is important for me to be able to estimate team numbers.

I have reached certain conclusions about route, timing and structure. So onwards and upwards...
I have a dedicated e-mail address which should be used to raise specific points, acknowledge interest etc.
citroenclassic@btopenworld.com so rather than clutter this thread with debate (and there will always be differing views) please do not hesitate to mail me.
The
Facebook page should become the main point of reference.
The next post should lay out all the relevant information for those contemplating taking part.

Anyone interested in taking part; e-mail me at -
citroenclassic@btinternet.com
Give me an idea of how probable it is as a percentage maybe!
Thanks
Phil

I urge any XM owners who fancy taking part to visit the facebook page, or to ask to be included on the event's e-mailing list.
The
Facebook page.
The plan has changed a smidge, allowing more flexibility, but concentrating more on the mountain stages.
