On 10 December, Citroen will sell off an extraordinary number of objects and complete vehicles from their vehicle collection, by auction in Paris.

The auction list includes prototypes, show vehicles and all sorts - including several XMs (2.5 and V6) - some with minimal mileage. Reserve prices are stated. There are copious photos.

The catalogue is here, and contains items I have never seen before...

I'm confused by the guide pricing.

Me too. Expected just to see a reserve price.
Some amazing items there.

Many thanks for posting the catalogue Chris and as you say extraordinary!! I have only had a quick browse, but check out the plexiglass XM V6 demo model on pages 128-9 and the PRV V624v powered Berlingo on 158-9!! With regards, Matthew T.

The two price values represents the estimated range within which the item is expected to sell. Most are san (without) reserve meaning the hammer price could be below the lower price in the expected range.

I understood that, but the pricing of similar, but less desirable models is confusing. Less desirable, higher mileage cars are priced higher than more desirable, ultra-low mileage ones.

As I keep winding miles onto my cars, it fills me with hope...ancient Taxis should be worth a fortune.

So what do you fancy Mathew, lot 147 by any chance? I'd have to go for the CX.

My comments were a bit simplistic based on a rather superficial glance at familiar items. I briefly revisited the catalogue and saw several of the guide price anomalies you referred to in your response.
Some of these may be due to an interesting history, association or ownership provenance that may lift the guidance above intrinsic value. The nature of the sale itself is likely to create a premium to intrinsic value and I would not expect many bargains.

Despite the guide price anomalies the auction process will determine the market value on the day. Therefore no one should be pui off bidding but decide a limit in advance and stick to it!
Roy.

I'm sure you're right. Some of those items will go for considerable sums. Hopefully, the sale prices will be published.
