I thought you kept your XM in a garage.

I prefer working outside as you get a lot more light and space to work around the car. I always used to work in the garage, but now only do so if it's raining.

I have to generally agree with you there Will, although in my case it is partly because the garage is full of stored cars and spares!

Have to agree too really, as getting the car in the garage is a right faff. Much easier to do things with it outside with plenty of space and in the light.

I do, but the garage isn't mine and there's no space. I can do front and back but if I want to do either side I have to pull it out. Plus I want lighting, power, and a lift.

I remember a garage I had years ago, in a block of ten, about one minute's walk away from the house. No electricity, no window, only a shared water tap a few garages away. Had an Austin-Morris 1300 at the time, and it was only just possible to open a door to get in and out. Swapping it for a Rover 3500S only made it worse.

It was a double block of ten, as well. If you backed out of your own garage, it stopped the guy opposite doing the same with his!

Spent about three years there, and built up a selection of 12v tools and fluorescent lighting, all run off a couple of spare car batteries. Also managed to do some major work on the Rover, including a box out job, and replacement with an SD1 5-speed ZF, as well as all-wings-off for comprehensive rustproofing. Fortunately, only one of my garage neighbours went in for that sort of thing, on an MG roadster.

Hmmm.. i guess i NEED to sort mine out..

Actually since this was taken i have boxed things marked them and done an inventry.. but its still impossible to find stuff.. its everywhere.. this is only one half..
Collecting proper plastic storage tubs is a good idea.. better when they stack and dont collapse.. though i have added another tall cupboard on the left..

There is another section behind this one same size again again ramned full...

Lol. Actually is a lot tidier then that now but still too much here.

Im an outside worker too but being up here the rain qty we get kills a lot of my time. I have to agree with the lighting situation being outside..
