hello all , thanks for the replies.
its a 3 ltr v6 12 valve.
its full of fuel.
I am going to start looking for the problem on sunday

hi all.
it looks like the rotor in the distributer cap , I've ordered a new on and will fit it on Friday afternoon after work.
fingers crossed.
but the crank sensor failed and now the rotor has failed, could this be linked

That is good news you have found the problem Stan and I suspect the only connection with the crank sensor is age! Regards, Matthew T.

I have also replaced the suspension arm return pipe on both front wheels as I am sick of topping up the oil

They do eventually split with age. I guess most of us have had to do that job! Pipes and clips still available, and same as Xantia, if I rememember rightly.
Did you manage to sort the other problem?

Strut returns same as C5 too.. but they are just a bit longer so easy to cut down..
