Anybody Near Exeter?

I bought what was described as a sphere recharging station on eBay earlier for the pricey sum of a tenner...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Nitro ... true&rt=nc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The seller said if nobody else bid they were going to chuck it out which seemed a shame, and as nobody else bid I decided I'd have a punt on it. Problem is that because it only reached a tenner the seller isn't prepared to spend any time wrapping it or strapping it to a pallet for me to have it collected.
Doesn't look big enough to cause problems going into the back of an XM but I was wondering if there was anyone closer then me who'd be able to collect it to allow me to organise a courier or a pallet to have it shipped up here.
Also: Does anybody know anything about it as I don't!!

I'm about 30 miles from Exeter, I could pick it up when I'm going that way if he can hang on for a bit. Where abouts in Exeter is he?

Dean, lucky me
Peter, I may have just got this sorted over on FCF. Someone who lives locally can collect it and take it to the X-Rally and hand it to Paul who I will be seeing anyway.
Thank you for the offer though, if all else fails I'll let you know.
David.

Hi David
It is listed in the April 2000 Citroen special tools booklet as OUT 304 130T.
Designed for use with XM and Xantia spheres.
It used Citroen branded screw plugs, caps and "o" rings.
The sketch drawing of them looks very similar to Technosoir plugs.
Item 4 131T which are no longer available.
They were sold only in bags of 50.
Have to hope the part used bag comes with the tool.
John

The man who invented this tool is Mr wingate or windfield he use to live here in Southampton (Waterloo Road) He use to work for Freeborns in its early days, but he moved out to Lymington some years ago and lost contact with him. I can see if I can locate him if you like, that is if he is still alive he would be in his 70's now.

That would be most fascinating if you could!
This has been picked up now, I just need to patiently wait until the rally season kicks off so I can venture south to get it.
David.

David you can sure start a business with that, once it's up here in Scotland!

I bet you'll have the West-of-Scotland monopoly.
