Hi Guys.

Was the site down most of today, or was it just my machine having a rough day ?

Ciarán did post a message saying there were "technical difficulties" or somesuch but the site was AWOL
from first thing this morning until about half an hour ago. onthecut - this time the hassles experienced
weren't down to your PC!!

Hi folks,

Yes Andrew is quite right, the site was indeed offline for about 12 hours yesterday due to a network problem between the web and database servers.

Typically, it chose a morning that I was halfway down the country to die, it was running fine about 6am when I left home, but then Robert helpfully texted me to let me know it was down, sometime after 8.

I did have access to a PC where I was, so I tried remoting in to look at the problem, but unfortunately, being a network problem, it wasn't something that could be fixed from afar, so had to wait until I got back. In the meantime I posted a temporary page detailing the problem, but TBH I doubt it will have been seen by many who have links directly to the forums in their favourites / history.

I did arrive home again about 6pmish, but was feeling crap and fell asleep, forgetting all about the server problem. It wasn't until I woke after 8 that I remembered and went in to sort it, something which typically, was literally a two second fix.

So yes, sorry it was offline for so long

Cairan; The message was visble instead of the home page. As already said, you've done a cracking job with setting this forum up and a timely repair yesterday.
